Marty Does Data

About Me

Hi! I'm Marty, and I do data with clarity, intention, and a systems-first mindset—one that includes both technical and human systems.

My background blends scientific research, technical writing, and analytics leadership. I've gone from ecology and social research to the study of complex human organizations to developing end-to-end analytics pipelines. I've mentored junior analysts, built internal bots, and led vendor evaluations for enterprise tools—because I care about what works, what scales, and what leaves a lasting legacy.

But what really defines me and my work isn't just the stack—it's how I see the world.

As an autistic professional, I've worked hard to hone my cognitive lens: the ability to zoom between the forest and the trees, to find patterns in cluttered systems, to clarify what's unclear and present it all in plain, accessible language. Whether it's aligning legacy policy documentation to current regulatory frameworks or mentoring someone through query logic inside a time-sensitive project, I bring calm focus, structured reasoning, and design thinking to the table.

I build systems people can trust, and I help others do the same without letting ego get in the way. I love building ladders that help the next generation of professionals like me rise (and watching them be able to do it faster and better than I did).
